That's a question for the moderators.

The editing limit was made to prevent troublemakers from editing/deleting their bullshit posts for later evidence, if you know what I'm sayin.

Then why isn't there an editing history? The other 4 forums that I go on have that.

I mean, where is it on the other forums since you know about it? Is it only the moderators who can see the info or is it accessible to all?

I think I know what you're talking about. I've seen on other forums when you edit your post it'll put sort of like a timestamp noting that an edit was made with the date and time.

I noticed this is kind of a trend lately, stating conversation integrity as the reason. For instance, I built screambox.com and used Muut for discussions. Here's their manifesto on conversation permanence: https://muut.com/manifesto/#permanent

The last website I built (for a much bigger client) doesn't allow editing comments at all.
