13 Ghosts The Haunting in Connecticut Shocker has a ghost, probably not what you are looking for. Of course all 3 Paranormal Activities and the excellent knock-off, Paranormal Entity. I'm not a big fan of ghost flicks and I'm sure you've seen all of these, but just in case...........

Grave encounters Dark remains The Others And then of course there's all the asian ones such as Kairo, Ju-on, One missed call and ringu. But you're an american so you probably can't read subtitles. So good for you crappy remakes have been made of them all. :D

How about Event Hozizon? I believe it has been described as 'The Exorcist in space'.
Ringu? The Changeling? The Orphanage and The Devil's Backbone? (If you only pick one, as they're quite samey, go for The Orphanage)
