I would consider any Dracula moveis to be remakes, they are just adaptations of the books.

I actually liked "The Haunting" remake better than the original.

Planet of the Apes by Tim Burton. It's not so much a horror but still a good film in itself. I personally loved the ending.

In no order... The Thing, Cape Fear (thriller/horror), House on Haunted Hill, The Amityville Horror, Dawn of the Dead, The Grudge, The Hills Have Eyes, Quarantine, The Ring.

The Hills Have Eyes and Dawn Of The Dead remakes are the only ones as of late I've been really satisfied with.

Man I really didn't like Cape Fear - there were some good ideas/parts but I'm such a big fan of the original the remake just didn't sit right..

I didn't mind the Dawn of the Dead remake when it came out but nowdays I think its average and totally dumbed down.

Last House on the Left and The Omen were two I really fuckin' hated.
