yes this is a great movie ....
a prime example where 'less is more' great atmosphere and the lead was perfect too... I like it when someone has the skill to make you fear for them, not cheer for the killers/ghost/force .. whatever .. |

This would have to be my favorite atmoshere in any movie. The first time I saw the "main ghost" on the side of the road, it freaked me out.

One of my favorites too. Loads of fun! Well, in a creepy sort of way.
I loved that "guy across the hall" character, he's so sleazy and yet pathetically sad at the same time, he seems totally real. And I like the weird fluctuatory way the girl acts toward him, first friendly and caring, then condescending and snooty. This is disturbing in itself! Hilligoss' performance should have gotten an award of some kind. (Yes, she's really lovely, too.) |

although I've seen the movie several times through the years--it is only recently that I've acquired it on DVD and had an opportunity to watch it more thoroughly.
Very creepy. Also, very much a period piece--I had a new Chevrolet of that model (1960) when I was a high school senior. I was a big horror movie fan at that time--but I don't remember that movie being released in the U.S.--And Remember, back in those days there were NO VCRs or DVDs. The only place you could see a movie not in current release was on TV--if it made the cut.
