I definitely am on the same wavelength as you! I get so sick of walking through the video store, seeing a bunch of horror releases, but then getting all sad when they prove to be the same thing with just different titles and photoshopped overs >.<

You are looking for iconolastic themes and plots, I would assume. If you are looking for some interesting ones that are a lil off the beaten path, I would recommend:

-Three Extremes (mentioned this in my introductory post. Very well done, well paced, and the plots are all unique and enjoyable, and a lil sick)

-House on Tombstone Hill aka 'Dead Dudes in the House.'-Ok, this one does not deviate from the bunch of 30somethingssupposed to be18yearolds' getting slashed to death, but what it does have is a quite amusing killer: an extremely old woman (really bad age makeup, but if you want a corny kick, its amusing.) Some of the deaths are creative, not ingenious, but funny and cool.

-Nekromantic - I dont recommend this one if you have extremely high morality when it comes to taboo subjects. The title pretty much says it all. Even I had some moments where I almost gagged at the sheer audacity this movie had. Think nekrophilia and schizophrenia, and you are in for a rather disturbing ride with this flick.

Id recommend some more, but Im supposed to be pretending to work right now, so I will leave it at that :-)

The 'Box' segment was incredibly boring

But 'Cut' was amazing and funny...'Dumplings' was good, too.

You know..thank you for pointing that out. For some reason, I was confusing the Box segment with another movie. Guess thats what I get for posting at the end of a 12 hour workday...lack of coherent memory!
