I agree and disagree. There were a lot of aspects of Halo: CE I liked more than Halo 2, but I still think Halo 2 is the strongest in the series.

I liked Halo: CE's open landscapes, even if they did get repetitive. I also liked the surprise horror element, the ammo conservation, the more realistic physics, and the story was surprise after surprise. Very cool. But the weapons weren't as balanced, you couldn't hijack, and the missions were a little less intense, and I cam to expect that from Halo 2. Exploding vehicles added an element to the game forcing you to take more care while driving. Halo: CE's soundtrack was good, but I liked Halo 2's more. And playing as the Arbiter was a cool surprise as well.

WHAT!?!?! No mention about the awesome ability to move the camera around during cutscenes!!! :p

I was never a big Halo fan but when I got to the end of Halo 2 I was pretty let down.

I recognized Halo 2's ending for what it was, a cliffhanger. I was expecting the beginning of Halo 3 to continue where it left off, but it kind of....didn't. I guess thats what the novels are for.

....Have you even played Halo 3?
Yeah I played it. 2 ended with him stowing away in Truth's vessel, and 3 began with him crashing into some small shuttle to earth. It seemed there was kind of a gap there, but now that I think about it, maybe not.
