Everyone (including myself) loved Slumber Party Massacre. We just finished The Burning (taking a break now and waiting for pizza.) Mixed opinions on that one. One of my friends brought up the topic of why so many slashers took place at summer camp... and when I mentioned Sleepaway Camp 2 & 3, no one even knew they existed! Hell, they only remembered a brief section of the first (when the kid gets the ass in the face... and, well, the ending...) So I told them that we had to do this again and watch those two sequels, because they are a riot (I don't have them on DVD so we couldn't catch them tonight.) But, yeah... The Burning. Yawns happened... near the ending. Everyone kind of agreed that it took itself too seriously... We managed a synchronized 'jump' during one scene (forget which....) and we pretty much agreed that the effects were really good (one mentioned that they were disappointed which the burnt face after all the hype in the introduction.) EVERYONE loved the finger-cuts. Though I kind of hyped them up, as well as myself, by mentioning how infamous the raft scene was (which I hadn't seen before)... kind of a let down considering what we all imagined. The girl in the group has a thing for Glazer... no comment. ("With a name like that, you think his sex scene would be a little more... explosive.")

As soon as the pizza gets here, we're off to watch Re-Animator. :)

Haha, a mixture of 17 and 18. I'm not a drinker (like... nothing at all), and most of my friends aren't either (most only casually/socially... though the chick is bordering on alcoholic :p) Legal age is 19, but does that really matter? I swear, my parents would buy me beer if I'd tell them I'd drink it. They're concerned. Haha.

So...

Everyone thought Re-Animator was the gem of the night. As the disc began, trailers ran - and I'm a fan of trailers, so I grabbed the remote before anyone could skip them. Luckily, they thought it was worth it when the trailer for Night of the Living Dorks was shown.

As for the movie itself... everyone was transfixed. With smiles on their faces throughout. One pointed out that they didn't know gore could be done so well when this movie was made (...it isn't that old... is it?) and everyone easily agreed that is was some of the best they've seen. The girl in the group has seen Beyond Re-Animator, and told us that it was really budget and seemingly dubbed (and something about a rat and a penis?... she tried demonstrating with her fingers...). Is that true? What about the film that comes in between?

After Re-Animator, we took a lengthy break and just chatted. One of my friends had never played Silent Hill, so I whipped out the third (easily my favourite) and we sat in the pitch black, with the sound cranked... navigating through that hellish carnival. Everyone thought it was amazing (as in, actually terrifying), but we didn't play very long. Just up to the part where you meet those large-handed monsters. I leant it out to him, and hopefully he finds it just as great as I did. Happy Birthday... *shivers*

After that, at nearly 2AM... we sat down and decided whether to watch Demons, or Maniac. I had the DVD for Demons, and... ahem... got Maniac another way... so we decided on Demons

The girl pointed out that this was exactly how Beyond was... with the dubbed-like quality. Is Demons dubbed? If so, why doesn't the DVD mention this or offer alternate tracks? (Or did I miss this? o_O) I must agree though, it certainly seemed funky. As for the actual movie... well, I'll put off judgement... until I see the whole thing. It was pretty good, for what I remember and seemingly just getting better (my eyes were hazy... in and out... so I couldn't even tell you if what I'm remembering of it was the actual movie, or a dream I created...)

We got turned on about half-way through and had a 3-guy 1-girl gangbang.

Okay, so not really. I actually fell asleep. Fuck, I'm a loser when it comes to staying up. Another guy fell asleep too, so, I wasn't alone. No one finished the whole movie, though the girl claimed the DVD and said she was going to finish it up tonight (I worked...)

I woke up at at 5AM to informercials. INFOMERCIALS. Not a fun way to wake up, and definitely nightmarish... just not in the nightmarish way that I had hoped to spend the night. I think it was for some pocket-sewing machine. WTF.

I'm setting up another one sometime soon. Sleepaway Camp 2 & 3, and Night of the Living Dorks - if I can find it (haven't seen it anywhere...) Really looking forward to doing this again. :)

Yeah, it's dubbed and there are no alternate tracks. Italian cinema from the 60s-early 80s was primarily shot MOS which means without live sound...it's way cheaper and with actors from Italy, France, Spain, U.S., Germany, etc it was an easy way to get around the language barriers.

All the dialog and sound effects were added after the fact. Sometimes it's done well (Once Upon A Time In The West) and sometimes it isn't (Demons)
