Arioch, if you thought the first Potter was good, and the second one not so good, in saying that, you're basically agreeing with most of the fans of the books (I've spoken to) out there....going on that, I would reccomend you see the third one when it comes out, I personally think it took the series in a darker direction, and the third was by far my favourite...a little longer, darker, and one very cool twist, provided nobody's already spoiled it 4u...

i didnt like the first two because like arioch said, too mainstream, i totally agree, and i ususally like fantasy...i liked the third though, it seemed more of an adventure...if u like sam , watch the third. look in my humble opinion, sam (or should i say sean astin) is the only character who acts in the 3rd movie, the rest just pose for the camera! except gandalf, who always acts well.. im happy they gave gimli some a FEW lines in the third one, in the first two he was just comic relief.....now ive got that off my chest, ill stop rambling

But on topic, I dig bth The Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter. Not to the point of worship, but where I'll probably watch if they were on TV and nothing else was on...

i have a dislike for harry potter, coz i like fantasy to be like in those mature-type fantasy books, for eg. those written by ra salvatore, and the dragonlance series (ANYONE HERE A FAN OF THESE?), no offense to ppl who like harrry potter, but it just seems...wrong

I'm reading my first dragonlance at the moment, seems kinda cool...are they always about the same few characters?
u know, raistlin, the "kender" guy, Sturm...etc? Gotta say, the one I'm reading at the moment "Rumour of Dragons" is very good...but I'd like to think that the same characters r in them all the time...it's be good to go back for the "prequel" feel... As for anyone who diga harry potter, would u agree that #3 sets the series in a better direction? |
