More big spoilers, caution.

Return, did you think that they went to heaven or hell at the end? At least the way I understood it the town was purgatory and when they left it was either heaven or hell. Since it was totally peaceful and stuff, just misty and mysterious, it seemed like a heaven. But... it was totally vacant, silent, eerie... What did you think?

We didn't see an alternative really. Unless you're talking about when everything goes ashes and pyramid head comes out and stuff, then yes. That being said, Silent Hill is def. purgatory. By the way I realize that was a complete circle, I just needed to state that.
