I'm 32 and I also love the 80's. I hated the music and fashions at the time but now when I look back it was some of the best times of my life.
It's when I discovered one of my passions in life..... ![]() Skateboarding. This is my wall at home. |

Oh, I edited them out...seemed too specific...but yes, there were Mods, a lot of them, and a lot of punks and different types...very colorful really. These folks looked strange but tended to be pretty nice.
Nowadays, when I see someone with green hair walking down the street, I think, "Ah! Thank god there's some decent folk around... Now I feel safer."

![]() My first band t-shirt. It wasn't this image. It said GWAR on the front, but was colored to look like some one had ripped GWAR into your body and your guts were hanging out. On the back was this mutant kid coming home to his mum. On the top it said, "In case you didn't feel like showing up," and on the bottom it said, "Pray we don't come to your town." My bro got it for me at his first "real" show. He's five years older than I am. In fact I got introduced a lot of things by having him around... Like.. Ildojo, my brother had the McGill board, when he got the Tony Hawk he passed the McGill down to me. He also used to skate freestyle. His first board was by the skater...can't remember his name, but he was older than the rest of those guys, had a wife and kids, but was an incredible freestyle skater. Do you remember him?

I think it's taking a long time for people to acknowledge that there was a huge musical renaissance in the 80's. Incredible inventiveness. Back then, you could turn on the radio and hear a shocking range of new styles. A few of these continued on into subsequent decades. But many, many more were experimented with in this time period. There was really some great music to be heard.

That's true. I think most of the CDs I own were made in the 80's. I rarely find new music I like. I guess there is really no such thing as new music anymore anyway. God I miss the Cosby show and Garbage Pail kids.:D
