I love asian cinema, particularly 1960's Yakuza flicks and most Samurai movies, but the horror tends to let me down - a lot of style over substance which is fine for a while, but can become really tiresome.

Audition was cringe worthy

Wild Zero, Batle Royale, Save the Green Planet and Versus are campy fun

Kwaidan is great

I haven't even heard of any of these with the exception of "Audition", which was horrid.

If I had to recommend a single asian fantasy film, it would have to be "A Chinese Ghost Story." Really interesting, fun, full of unexpected, imaginative things.

Avoid the sequels at all costs. They just don't exist.

Yes, there are sequels. They do exist, but I thought it would be easier for you to avoid them if I told you they didn't.

The last 20 minutes is okay...

You should watch 3 Extremes and 3 Extremes 2...They aren't too bad...and they certainly aren't anything like the 'popular' ones...I thought the 'Box' segment was pretty boring, though

Some good short films in those sets.
