haha! finaly someone who understands what its all about, swords axes and knifes...not guns! i mean i do spend some time on the firering range, back in the good ol medeival times archers and crossbowmen were the last to eat, the last to sleep andthe hardest working of them all.. for the least respect and money. they were seen as disshonorable dogs, i mean they could take out a distinguished warrior at a distance no problem!
yeah that is an axe, pretty sharp to, im a big collector of sharp things, two time oslo champion of swords, there is nothing like a good swordfight. i guess swords are pretty much what i live for

I was always fascinated by the art of swordplay and fencing. Studied martial arts when I was younger and Japanese sword play. Mostly Kenpo and Arnis. Here in the states fencing is only for the elitists not for the commoners. Skill I would love to learn, must admit I envy you. Its is kind of difficult to learn these skill since here they are considered obsolete. I whole heartedly disagree with that. I do alot of bowhunting-pretty good at that but mine is a compund bow, not a long bow. I cant imagine what it would be like to be standing on a battlefield with 1000s of upon 1000s of arrows coming in on you. That had to be a scary sight. I am also into siege engines, the brilliance behind the building of a trebuce' (spelling?) what an cool thing. Every year they have pumpkin throwing contests around the late harvest and its great to see these things work.

oy, i think i got a little miss understood, when i said fencing i didnt mean with those litlle tiny pokers you couldnt harm a fly with that, im talking about big swords, like long swords, broad swords, two handed swords and so on... still kind of obsolete if you ask me... other then showing off... allthough i have been dreaming about waking up to a burglar in my house so i could walk up to him wearing my boxers with a sword over my shoulder going "can i help you?"
tryed fiering a bow a cuple of times... didnt work out...
im not exactley sure how you spell it... but the trebuce was an engenius device, massive compared to itsl"little" brother the mangonel. its a little to big to have on my desk though so im not a collector...

I didnt think you were talking about the tiny little poking swords LOL. I saw a copy of the sword from the movie 'Conan the Barbarian' they had his fathers sword and the sword of Crom, somewhere in the price range of 3000 dollars a little out of my price range, but man what I wouldnt give to have that hanging on my wall. I can see a burglar now, letting it all go in his pants when he sees this guy standing over him w/ a 4ft blade stuck in his face.

Sounds cool, balance is the key. The blade I was speaking of I doubt would be much good in battle, it was beautifully engraved but I think more a show piece than anything.

i have a cuple of show blaeds to so to speak, an 8 kilo replica of excalibur, you can always tell the diffrence between molds and hand made by the weight. 8 kilos would be about 16-19 lbls i guess... good luck swinging that around in a fight.
