Bear with me if this doesnt make sence...Im too tired to proofread tonight:p

Even though I like the direction that it will take the next film, Im kind of disapointed that they killed off Jack. Not because Im one of those rabid fans that whine if theres more than 5 minutes without Johnny Depp, but just because it totally changed his character. I liked how in the first film and through most of this he always had that small shred of nobility, but nothing more. It was one of many things that made him such a unique character, so it kinda bugged me that they copped out and made him so noble and selfless in this one.

well, I think he had a shimmer of nobility by coming back to the ship, but when he took on the Kracken, I think it was because he had no where else to go and decided to face his problem head on otherwise he would never sail the ocean safely again (Jack Sparrow standing fearless in the maw of the creature was one of the coolest scenes I have witnessed in a long time.)

But a few weeds and stubble showing last.

The woods around it have it--it is theirs.
All the animals are smothered in their lairs.
I am too absent-spirited to count;
The loneliness incluces me unawares.

And lonely as it is, that loneliness
Will be more lonely ere it will be less--
A blanker whiteness of benighted snow
With no expression, nothing to express.

They cannot scare me with their empty spaces
Between stars--on stars where no human race is.
I have it in me so much nearer home
To scare myself with my own desert places.

SPOILERS AS WELL ===
The ending didn't piss me off / dissapoint me in terms of WHAT happened, but rather how it was treated. it didn't feel emotional / prolific enough. It's not something that made me tear up, gasp, feel shocked, or otherwise. I suspect it not to stay in my memory above pother scenes. In fact, just 15 minutes after watching it... I lready feel no need to care about it.

The best movie of the summer so far. Great action, Terriffic humor, and wonderful FX. I loved it. Can't wait for part 3!

I think you missed the point...

Mild spoilers.....

I think he finally decided to do it.

I didnt miss the point, I just dont agree with it. Ok sure, it will set the love triangle to complely explode in #3, but I still think it was completly out of character.

**Spoilers**

The whole movie I'm trying to see where Barbossa's gonna fit in...''everybody's selling their soul to get something, maybe Barbossa did it to get back at Jack....no''....

''Did he take the heart? stop reaching idiot, how the hell could he do that, the commodore took it''...

''Maybe Jack's going to try to get his help? wait...they all think he's dead''

Then with no more than a minute or two tops left he shows up, says something about his ship, bites an apple and that's it.

I'm more excited to see him as a main character throughout the next film rather than to have had him a secondary villian in this one, so it's all good.

Besides all that, I thought it was a great movie and I can't wait for the third.

From the opening scene of the first film she's expressed fascination with pirates, at the end of the first when her father asked ''so this is the path you've choosen? after all he is a blacksmith.''...she replied ''No, he's a pirate.''(might not be those exact words but close enough.)

She likes pirates because they represent the opposite of the life she's not satisfied with, so she starts to fall for Jack because he's THE pirate.

And besides that they're modeled after two real famous pirates that met and fell in love in a somewhat similar way.

My 7 year old loved this movie and just about peed her pants when I told her there would be a number 3.
I like Jack's character and I like the story and do not mind one bit that it's becoming a franchise- considering the amount of crap Hollywood forks us.
