Lobo Update:
we took him to the vet today and they're keeping him over night to clean the wound and find out the exstint of the damage. my dad is also filling a civil suit against our neighbors, the ones who owned the dog. so far they've been watching our house and threating kill our animals. so yeah, that's the update.

Lobo is a beautiful Dog!
My dog who is half Mastif half Boxer and I were attacked at the park the other night. The dog bit me in the leg and then ran away after my dog got a good bite into it's neck. It pisses me off when people dont take care of their animals or make them mean on purpose. It's not the dogs fault, so i think the person should be shot! |

Although MAYBE it's the kind of people who are into presenting themselves under a certain "image" such a beast would further "promote"...whatever the fuck dickless morons of that general calibur that probably only buy the dog to make themselves feel/look big n bad in the first place...'cos generally they don't treat their animals any better than those around them...thus, making these dogs more prone to be viscious. Seems like a sound enough theory to me. I've met dogs of all kinds with "bad rep", dobermanns, ayredales (the supposed baby-eaters), american and english pittbulls, staffordshire terriers, rottweilers...not saying they're ALL nice, but I've met multiples of each, and find that if raised properly I don't think ANY of these dogs is liable to snap without some kind of shitty treatment, abuse, or prolonged torment...shitty people give these animals a bad stereotype...but ignorance only perpetuates these things. Take rats for instance (although not 100% pertainent, a good point nonetheless)...anyone who's owned one knows different, but the horrible things that those who simply haven't met a rat, believe and say about them...it's too bad. Then again, I HAVE been raised around german shepherds...so I've come to have an understanding of the "big" dogs. In closing...I guess, don't judge an animal before you own one yourself, because only under your care and watchful eye will you ever see the goodness in them and the kindness that they're capable of, in many instances I've been surprised. ps - Hope things turn out for the better for your dog, obsessed...and I strongly reccomend contacting animal services to have the dog removed, and the "owners" charged.

Every time your neighbors make a threat, call the police. Make sure there's a record of it. Also, I would make sure none of your pets are left outside unattended. That would give your shithead neighbors a perfect opportunity to do something.
I hope Lobo gets better fast! |

I agree with Cheeba. I was raised with a boxer, so I'm used to big dogs too. She was the most intelligent, gentle creature alive. Although she had an instinct when to protect, but it was very non-aggresive. She would just lay her ears back and growl and the agressor would back off immediately. Only saw her do it a couple of times, otherwise, when she didn't sense danger, she was a big gentle dog.
And I've known pit bulls that were big baby family dogs, probably much the same as the dog I grew up with. And then there was the Doberman, who's owner tried to portray him as a mean dog. I started petting the dog and he said, oh be careful he's mean. I sat down and the dog curled up in my lap and went to sleep. I suspect that guy probably spoiled and pampered his dog more than he was willing to admit. :) My point is, it's your neighbor's fault for the dog being that way. Obviously they are mean obnoxious people if their dog attacked your dog in his own yard and yet they are threatening your family and pets. Not to mention ignorant beyond belief. Good luck with all of this. And I hope Lobo get well real fast. He is a beautiful dog.

The boy got too close to the dog's food. Brandon had over a hundred stitches to close a gash that started from the corner of his eye over his head and ended at his right ear. I love dogs, and I'm not bashing them. But some breeds tend to be more nervous and impulsive than others, and pit bulls happen to be one of them. I don't think they should be picked on or eliminated, but certain animals need a closer eye than others. It was partly the fault of the adults, myself included, for not watching close enough, but there had never been any problems with Hades before. She had always been tolerant of kids until that moment. It gave me nightmares for a long time, to be completely honest with you. She had to be put down, and if Brandon's parents hadn't been such good friends with the dog's owner, it would have gotten very ugly in a legal sense. Our mutual friend paid all the hospital bills and put the dog down. My point is, ANY animal can be dangerous under the right circumstances....but certain ones snap more easily than others, and many times there's no warning.
