Jason and the Argonauts is a GREAT movie, i can't believe i forgot about it!

Also, not a classic or anything, but has anybody seen the animated movie called Sinbad: Legend of the seven seas? Its a really good movie i think, check it out sometime.

I definately concur. All those stop motion animation films I loved as a kid, despite some dodgy acting and poor backdrops.
Would also add

Original Star Wars Trilogy
Neverending Story
Silent Running (not quite fantasy but when I first saw it at the tender age of five I cried at the end when the little robot goes of on his own to look after the forest. The poor little mite!)
:(

Wasn't really into movies that much as a kid(I was more into reading), but I loved Roald Dahl adaptations, like the Witches, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.
Also loved the Neverending story. Come on, who didn't cry when Artex the horse died??? That wolf thing scared the crap outa me too.

sadly, I didn't see this movie until my teens, cause I would've LOVED this movie when I was a kid (I love it now, but you know what I mean)

As a kid, I didnt venture far from Disney. I was a complete Disney addict! According to my dad, Sword in the Stone was the first movie I ever saw. Used to watch that one constantly, along with a good deal of others, including:

-Pinnochio
-Aladdin
-101 Dalmatians
-Beauty and the Beast

I used to watch this all the time as a kid. One of my favorite Disney movies. I also loved Labyrinth, still watch it quite often.

grew up with .. hmm.

i'm inclined to omit disney films because they are a given ..

there wasnt much fantasy when i was a kid ..

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang
Captain Sinbad (the movie of that name)
The Wizard of Oz
The Phantom Tollbooth
The Legend of Hillbilly John

i dont have a lot of recollections of growing up with fantasy ..

but i remember seeing King Kong VS Godzilla at the theatre when i was 13 or 14 and i think that got me hooked.
