The People under the Stairs
Nightmare on Elm Street
Last House on the Left
Are the only movies that I liked of his. Personally I think all of his new shit sucks the big one.'
Oh and scream the first few times I seen it.

He is a good director with a few great films, but I personally don't think he should get as much credit as he does.

You're right, He didn't write or direct "They" He presented it, Just like Quentin Tarantino presented "Hostel" Wes also presented another film called "Don't look down."

a lot of directors famous for being 'horror directors' probably loose their flavour for it but the studios wont let them do anything else.
I'll be willing to bet Craven is sick of the genre and wishes he could make 'serious films' and his heart isnt in these latest projects.

either that or he's just too old to have the edge anymore.

i hated Last House on the Left by the way ...
I Spit on Your Grave was far less exploitive than that one ..

Craven.

Craven got back from Vietnam around 66. Acording to his own words he was angry and bitter as all hell. However he chanelled it beter than most of us did, he made movies; this allowed him to take all of that rage and do somthing good with it. Hence, we get Last house on the left and others. My fav was Serpent and the rainbow. For all you Milatary buffs I surved with the 2nd of the 27th inf(Wolfhounds) 25th Inf Div,I extended and went to ranger school and did another tour.

Wes Craven

The Serpant & the Rainbow was weird & highly under rated as far as horror goes. It mostly stays on the outside of most horror fans viewing & why this is I have no idea but it's a great movie. I love the original NightMare On Elm Street. But alot of his stuff really doesn't seem to stick in my mind for some reason?:)
