Hey Baron - thanks for posting this!

Would it be okay if I post the announcement on my website, WriterAction.com? We're an online community of professional screenwriters and we have a lot of horror writers who have shorts, indies and scripts in the genre. But I won't announce the fest if you want to keep the competition mainly to non-pros.

Let me know - it sounds like great fun.

Thanks, and Happy (belated) Birthday.

Alex

Thanks. I've been keeping my eyes peeled for festivals accepting. We just finished filming on one and should have post production finished by the end of Jam./early Feb. I'll pass this along to the director.

Thanks.

So Barron, which is your real name? Greg or Alex?

If I have written some short stories and screenplays, but am a complete amateur and have never submitted one to anybody, where would I start. Where could I submit just to find out if it's any good at all. I've done this for years, but have never showed them to anyone, but I'm thinking I'd like to know if they even have any real story value, if I'm describing imagery, etc., or just entertaining myself. Entertaining myself is priority one, but I'd kind of like to know......

Thanks for any info

Screenplays

Sukie -

There are all kinds of competitions out there to which you could submit your work. Ours is just one of them and while I would of course love to have you enter your work with us, I would encourage you to do a Google search for "Screenplay Competitions" or maybe check out InkTip.com or similiar sites.

If you are just looking for a review of your stuff contact a local University. You'd be surprised how helpful some Professors in the English Department can be with such things. Hopefully you have a cool teacher somewhere around where you live.

Best of luck to you!

-Greg

Greg - thanks for posting - this board is "spam" happy, don't take it personally. I think this is great information for this board and I'm sure there are plenty of screenwriters/filmmakers that are happy you posted it. Hope the 2006 fest is a hit!!!

Spam spam spam spam (cue Python music)

Thanks for the kind words... and like I said, I hate spam more than anyone else, but how else are we supposed to get the word out to the horror world?

That's a lot of information to have to reword for each individual posting on line... it is always a dilemma for me... to post or not to post, that is the question.. lol

The 2006 Fest is looking good so far... and word just came in that we will be hosting a Horror Convention in Erie sometime in May! (You read it hear first folks).

I'll keep you updated.

Peace,
Greg
