The idea for the description came from, of all places, the Van Helsing trailers (the white freathered women).
The basic idea came from my wifwe. She told me about a novel she had read where a guy kills his abusive mother, then finds out theat the furies almost slways came to kill people who murder their mother, and copmes to the conclusion that 3 women are the furies and he has to kill them in order to survive. I wanted the furies to actually get someone :)
