Don't think so...

The only cases I can think of at the moment are :

Horror:
- Friday the 13th 3, 6 and 7
- Aliens
- Puppet Master 2
- Blair Witch Project 2
- Children of the Corn : Revelation (yup)
- Creepshow 2
- Critters 2
- Prom Night 2&3
- Return of the Living Dead III (IMO, it equals or barely beats the original)
- Dawn of the Dead

Non Horror:
- Back to the Future II (not by far tough)
- Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom

It's hard to say with some of those...

I think Dawn of the Dead is far more kickass than NIght of the Living Dead, but then you have to take in to account the era it was made and what they had to work with. For it's time, Night was AWESOME! It spawned a genre and set the standard for zombie movies. That being said, I still personally like Dawn better.

The Terminator one is tricky too, because of the special FX gap between the original and T2. T2 was visually awesome, but I got to go with the original based on the originality of the storyline.

I thought Return of the Living Dead 2 was better/funnier than Return of the Living Dead.

Evil Dead 2 was better than Evil Dead, but it was just the same movie with a bigger budget. (P.S. AOD is good, but not better than Evil Dead.)

Aliens is definately better than Alien.

That's all for now. I'm going to go see Saw.

I don't take into account stuff when I watch a horror movie. If it gets old, then it gets old. You can't live in the past. Tell me, do you guys still light your whole house/appartment with candles?

I thought that Nightmare On Elmstreet 3 (Dream Warriors) was every bit as good as Nightmare On Elm Street

I also thought that Halloween 3 (Season Of the Witch) was as good as (if not a little better than) Halloween...But, sorta as a different movie altogether, rather than a sequel :)
i haven't even seen halloween 3 cause i refused to belive it could be good without michael. :D
