The debate has already started? I thought we were going to pick a time and have Arioch moderate it. Hmmm.... but, this format seems to work okay.

I think HDC is a great site (I wouldn't be here otherwise), and the main thing that makes it great is the people. Where else can you go to engage in conversation on unlimited topics with such devout fans of horror as yourself? However, I think the site could be even better in that it seems more concerned with the reviews and such that are posted on the homepage, rather than its members. As it is, there are no member benefits, no rewards, lousy smilies, and a slew of drab avatars to choose from. Not to mention the fact that the site is kind of drab by way of appearance, and could use a little sprucing up.

I have plans to make HDC more member-oriented. Of course, I cannot give empty promises (like banning other people -- whoever is elected does not become a moderator). But I do have plans that can be executed, and I truly believe will be enjoyed by the members here once I am elected. I am torn as to whether or not I should reveal those plans before election -- because then the ideas could easily be stolen by my opponents, thus taking away my edge. Let's just say that I have plans to reward members who show creativity, intelligence, and insight in their posts (judging by things such as avatars, quotes, signatures, thread topics, and basic, overall post content). I will not reveal what these rewards will be, but I know that members are tired of having their avatar rated a 10 and getting nothing for it. Or for writing an exceptionally witty post, and receiving no recognition. I think that under my system, members will be encouraged to improve the quality of not only their threads, but their individual posts.

I will keep the rest under wraps, since the bell just rang and 6th period is about to start.

Vote Stingy Jack/Fluffho 2004!

If you don't vote Stingy, you don't know Jack!
