Hot Rod

Really dumb. Kinda funny. If Edgar Wright had a stroke, he might make films like this. I laughed a couple of times.

Legend

Wondering which version this is though, since the music was completely different (and I found it waaay better... no Tangerine Dream, yuck!). Only Mia Sara's singing threw me completely off, but find this version better than the one I saw as a kid.

The Hamiltons

Not bad, not good. A bit slow. Interesting concept that I think could have been better exploited.

Meet the Parents (2000)

Enormous entertainment. This has always been one of my guilty pleasures.

A Nightmare on Elm Street 6
Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare.

I am glad they made a seventh installments, as this would have been a horrible way to end a franchise. Each installment of the NOES franchise thus far has provided some excellent special effects. The fourth one was the climax, in my opinion, but I enjoyed each of them. UP UNTIL THIS INSTALLMENT. My god, what trash!

The story wasn't all that great, but what ruined it the most, was the effects! The visuals. The trailer even exclaims: "Cool graphics!" Oh my god. People don't tell me this wowed people back when it premiered. I felt like vomiting.

Did this start the switch from prosthetics to digital? If so, even more reasons to hate it. It was... oh god... I can't say this enough. Terrible. Terrible. TERRIBLE.

And then they go and highlight all the effects in the previous installments during the end credit clip reel? That contrast made it even worse.

F.
