I was considering getting a Ferdinand the Bull tattoo for a while there. Still not sure if I want a tattoo yet, but we'll see.

Something like this, but with the flowers colored in red probably:

I actually knew a girl who got it in color on the inside of her forearm. It was gorgeous.

I know somebody who recently got the Greek drama mask face thingies on each leg with little mottos (just general "deep" life stuff :P)

What are your opinions of getting things in some obscure alphabet. I've always found it quite cliché and almost a way for people to pretend to be more philosophical than they really are. I mean, when you think about it, you might as well get it written in English (or your respective first language) on your skin. It'd mean the same and be more relevant to you!

I can't stand people who get Japenese symbols and writing on them. Most of those people probably dont even know what they mean.

My opinion is you don't know what's more "relevant" to each individual person.

I just get fed up with the countless people I've met with phrases like "Never Give Up" or "Determination makes the winner" written in symbols that they themselves do not understand, from a culture they have no link to. I'm aware it's their choice and their skin, but my opinion is that they're reducing their body to a human doodle-pad.

I was a classics major for a good part of college... For a while considered getting a phrase written in Greek from The Odyssey... I've since lost interest, but it was something very meaningful at the time... After spending a year in China I also considered a few phrases in Chinese, but it didn't materialize (mostly since Asian conji tattoos are so popular).

Anyway - When I see someone with a symbol or writing on them, my gut reaction is that they are just being trendy and have no idea what it means... But then I think, "Who am I to judge?" It must have meant something to them at sometime, even if it means nothing to anyone else. ;)

...

By the way... I'm scheduled to get the outline of my FIRST TATTOO on Tuesday.:D
