I like how the station is transitioning from the "silly side of Halloween" to a more darker tone. I've heard there are thousands of songs on the playlist so you're likely not to hear the same one twice!

Though I haven't posted any updates lately, that doesn't mean there hasn't been activity going on... underground. Welcome To Weirdsville Radio - Halloween Weirdness has been writing and expanding, taking on a more ominous tone, like a plague of virulent, disease ridden rats. New items added to the playlist recently:

Two atmospheric mood pieces by Verne Langdon; Music for Magicians and the double release The Phantom of the Organ/Vampyre at the Harpsichord.

Vic Mizzy's other creepy soundtrack for The Night Walker, Basil Kurchin's evocative Abominable Dr. Phibes soundtrack, music and dialogue snippets from Texas Chainsaw Massacre I & II, and a smattering of Akira Ifukube's powerful scores for Japanese Kaiju films like the original Gojira, Gidorah the Three Headed Monster, Gidorah Vs. Godzilla and more!

Two more of Kenyon Hopkins collaborations with the Creed Taylor Orchestra- Shock Music in Hifi and Panic, Son of Shock!

I can say without a touch of hype, Welcome To Weirdsville Radio is by far the most unique and entertaining Halloween station on the air. Much of what you hear here you won't find anywhere else.

The underappreciated Ronald Stein, composer of multitudes of low budget horror film scores, bursts upon the scene with selections from The Haunted Palace, The Premature Burial, Last Woman on Earth, Spider Baby, Dementia 13 and others!
Ennio Morricone's haunting score to Exorcist II: The Heretic.
In a World's Hallow's Eve album.
Also, from the mid-60s, when albums of experimental electronic music could be marketed as kiddie Halloween albums, we have Gershon Kingsley's Ghostly Sounds and Music for Monsters, whose unfortunate theremin player's identity seems to have been lost to eternity.

From 1969 we have the beloved Poe Through a Glass Prism album of Edgar Allen Poe poetry set to psychedelic rock music.
From 1968, Coven's infamous Witchcraft Destroys Minds and Reaps Souls album.
More Zacherley, with some Shock Theater audio bits and his Dead Man's Ball album.
I don't know why, but Timothy Leary's crazy Tune In, Turn On, Drop Out album portraying a guided acid trip has always seemed Halloweenish to me- watch out, it'll sneak up on you!
Hell Yeah! we've got HorrorPops, with their Hell Yeah! album!
Listen carefully and you'll hear the strangest cover of Purple People Eater, by none other than Judy Garland!
