Not really. In films like "Pulp Fiction", "Jackie Brown", and "Fresh" even though his roles are more serious they still come off as hilarious. Hilariously brilliant, though. With a title like "Snakes on a Plane" we all knew it'd be cheesy anyway, yet he tried to play a serious cop all they way through until the end when he did his big "I want these motherfucking snakes..." shpiel. It was just a huge letdown in my opinion. In fact, the funniest part of the movie wasn't even included in the final cut.

I liked Jackson in Unbreakable, 'A time to Kill' and cavemans valentine...the only characters that really showed any kind've difference in persona to all the others he's played. I won't bother mentioning his star wars character...everyone in that was equally wooden. That said, I haven't seen ALL his stuff, my comments refer only to that which I HAVE seen, and I definately see a pattern, as most would.
I don't mind his whole "bit", but I think he could be more effective if he dropped it every now and then. "Mr Glass" was a sinister son of a bitch, he did it well. Er, watched a bit of Harold & Kumar, but had other stuff to do...

Time After Time
Urge, thank you for every single time you told us all that we need to see this movie. Easily and beyond all shadow of a doubt one of the coolest, most fun films that Ive ever seen...damn near perfect in every way:D This is why I usually avoid renting films. Ive paid to rent this, and now I'll need to shell out more to buy it...
