1) TOOL 2) A Perfect Circle 3) Deftones 4) Nirvana 5) Nine Inch Nails Others: Rob Zombie, Korn, Disturbed (first album), Rammstein, Metallica (older stuff), Marilyn Manson, System of a Down, Static-X, Powerman 5000, Godsmack, Black Sabbath, Queen, Lynard Skynard, Beethoven, Motorhead...probably some others, those come to mind instinctively though.

1. Black Sabbath
2. KISS 3. The OLD Guns and Roses (Appetite for Destruction album alone put them on my top 5) 4. Queen 5. Twisted Sister (Under The Blade is one of the heaviest albums I have ever heard that, unlike a lot of other metal records, has a surprising amount of clarity and purpose in its lyrics) This is not a greatest of all time list. Just my top 5 favorite bands which I think were the most original and creative.
