				Cat People (1982).

Highly underrated, sexy and alluring remake of the 1942 horror masterpiece is one of the most underrated horror movie remakes ever. This one has a great score from Giogio Morodor (The Neverending Story and Scardace) and David Bowie with terrific performances by Malcom Mcdowell, Natasha Kinsky, John Heard and Annete O'Toole.

And you think it's inferior to the 1942 classic?

The two films are very different. The only thing similar is the theme. I wouldn't call the 1982 film a remake at all. I enjoy them both. I'd say the 1942 film has a higher stature of the two films for its masterful understatement. What I enjoy the most of the 1982 film are the African segments. |

I'm pretty sure I have seen this, but I actually don't remember much about it at all. I love the subtlety of the original, I think its a beautifully done film. Adding this one to my Netflix queue so I can compare the two. |

Haven't seen this in a good few years. I remember the lighting being impressive and there being some great shots scattered throughout. On the down side I also remember it all being a bit camp and cringeworthy at times. Might be being a bit harsh though, I'll try and give it another watch in the next few weeks. Definatley remember it being visually impressive either way.

saw it when it first came out.....don't remember much ...cept a naked Natasha Kinsky walking around through most of it. I guess it was pretty good then. |

They are both great films, but as Neverending said, they are alike in theme only. Personally, I thought Nastassia Kinski was quite attractive and bush was fine. |
