Hannibal Rising - (Unrated DVD)

Check it out if you're a fan of Silence of the Lambs, Hannibal or Red Dragon.
I thought it would be better, but it's still worth a watch.

Well, someone just tell me its better than the book. I was so disappointed I didn't even finish the book, and that very rarely happens. I at least finished Hannibal, though I didn't like it much. Having a hard time believing this is the same author that wrote Red Dragon.....:(

Well, don't.....its not worth the effort....;) Just wondering if there was anyone else here that had. I will probably watch the movie anyway, there's a chance, a small chance, I might like it okay.

terrible movie. it would have been better if it was not about Hannibal Lector. i couldnt beleive that this IS Lector. theres no Hannibal without Anthony Hopkins.

I think Hannibal:Rising is good......not perfect,but still very solid!




Have you seen Michael Mann's "Manhunter?"Brian Cox makes a pretty good Hannibal Lecter!

I didn't like it to much,it felt to me that it had no soul,you didnt feel a connection with hannibal in that one.It just felt like they were inpersanating him.





No horror films seem like they have souls nowadays.

Hopkins studied Cox's portrayal of him - there are very good similarities.

The whole point of the film is to show how/why Hannibal becomes the psychopath. Unless Hopkin's could go back in a time machine and take 30/40 years off his life, there is no way he could be in "Hannibal Rising" :rolleyes:
