i thought the ending of blair witch .. the VERY ending (in the basement) was one of the coolest endings i'd seen.
I'll admit that the running around in the house felt to me when i was watching it like 'this old house is cool .. lets run around in it - that should look pretty cool' and was the only thing that took me out of the experience of the movie.. but the actual ending in the celler ... i thought it was very effective..

It is this viewer's most favourite ending of all time, in any film ever.
If not as the finale of a thoroughly fantastic and original horror film, then as the most provocative, uncomfortable and challenging final scene ever conceived. Even in scorn of the film and its ending, it succeeds - much to the chagrin of detractors.

Wow, not one person has attacked my baby, April Fool's Day yet? Although I love the ending, I heard a lot of bitching about it on these very forums about a year ago.

I too enjoyed the ending of the Blair Witch Project. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that it made the movie.
As for endings I hated, The Ring 2 is the crowning example. I didn't really know what to expect prior to it, but I certainly didn't expect the insipid, trite and DULL garbage that was spewed out.

I liked April Fool's Day too.
what about the ending of the Haunting remake? Lily Taylor has been in some great movies, but that crap was about the worst thing ever.
