Lycanthrope as far as I know is a disease whereas an infected person or animal must transmit the disease thru saliva or blood contact. Settlers probably saw the indians performing rituals dressed in animal clothing and acting animal like thus the reason for why they think werewolves exist. Indians used Peyote, a hallucinagen, to alter there state of mind making them feel animal like. I have a book about changing oneself into an animal but not on this plane of existance. Want to see a great wolf film check out Wolfen, it is an older film and Gregory Hines is in it, sorry he doesnt dance in that one, but it is pretty good. There is a fair explanation in the film about the relationship between the Indians and wolves.

In foke lore there are many ways to contract lycanthropy, the most common is to put on an enchanted wolf's pelt or belt. There are also salves or balms that are said to induce lycanthropy. Not to mention the one about drinking rain water from the paw print of a wolf. My favorite is the old wives tale of babies being born under a full moon on Christmas eve.

Anyhowls I am not sure were the popular bite or scratch came into play.

Since when does "The Darkness is a funny band" mean "OMG The Darkness is the greatest band ever?" Sorry Wicked Lady, GC gets WAY more airplay and MTV time than The Darkness ever will. I've never heard The Darkness on the radio, but GC comes on every damn minute. That's why I don't listen to the radio anymore. I think maybe you don't realize how much they are played b/c you like them. If something irritates you, you take more notice of it. Like that damn Stacy's Mom song.

I don't listen to any station, just when I'm with my girlfriend or other friends and don't have my CD;s on me we are forced to listen to the radio and I always here GC, Stacy's Mom, and that godforsaken Trapt song. GC are everywhere. They are always on MTV and they were on SNL the last time I watched it.

The Darkness crack me up. If you have teeth that bad and still become a rock star, I say hell yeah. Plus, they have a song called "Get your hands off of my woman motherfucker."

But it's their ONLY song. And it's been played straight to hell. Actually, you know what, it's not their only song. The other day I heard the ACOUSTIC version of it on the radio. Tell them to release another damn song so they can retire that one.

ur right but if u go over to the u.k. they get played all the time! because they cant go on the streets w/o being mobbed by the freaky little camera ppl! lol but over here they can walk among ppl w/o being harrassed by adoring fans! but i love em anyways! and they just wrapped up a tour w/ metallica another really good band, although their newer cd really made me mad, but i guess u cant stop loving a band because they lose a little of wat they had but they still rock the world! "u spin me right round baby, right round like a record baby right round round round...."

oh and if ur tired of hearing gc or trapt or w/e else go to 97xonline.com and u can listen in on there they rock the tampa/st pete airwaves!!!!
