WILD BILL (1995). Jeff Bridges is decent as Wild Bill Hickcock and a lot of favorite actors in here; sadly, the script by Director Walter Hill is just awful. You would think Bill is a Sports Star with all the fawning around him and the circumstances of his demise spin wheels endlessly...David Arquette is insufferable. Lots of favorite actors, but many are in here for one to two scenes and it's not worth wading through this very long 90 minute film to check them out. If You want a better Western, try TOMBSTONE instead. *1/2

ABOMINIBLE (2006). A Yeti-type monster is prowling around an area and wheel chair bound patient (with an absolute tool for a Nurse) tries to help as best He can. A lot better than I thought it would be and although it's kind of a cheat listing veteran performers-who have two scenes max. Dee Wallace, Jeffrey Coombs, Lance Henriksen (who We have met at Cons) and Paul Gleason make the most out of it . Lance's recounting of The Darwin Awards is actually quite funny. ***

FALL (2022). While rock climbing with her Husband and best friend, a Young woman loses her husband and goes into a serious funk. A year afterwards (Why is it always "one Year Later"?), the friend shows up at the widows house and talks her into another extreme sport to, in effect, "get back on the Horse". The spot She picks out is a 2000 foot radio tower in a desert. What appears to be a fun challenge soons becomes anything but that.....
I found this in the $5 Wal-Mart DVD bin and for that price and Jeffrey Dean Morgan (who we both like), I figured why not. FALL is one of the most intense films I've seen in some while. Very vertigo inducing camera work and my feet and palms were sweating big time! The two actresses are both decent and You wish they had done a little better planning; annoying at times both can be, but they don't deserve what happens to them. **** |

I also enjoyed how un-Negan JDM was in this one. Only a small role, but I enjoy how he played a broken, vulnerable character.
