I've never been truly scared by a movie. Zombies came the closest when I was a kid, they really creeped me out. I think that's why zombie films are my favorite. But I did experience true terror once. Some friends and I were rock climbing without ropes, and at about a hundred feet we reached a small plateau and decided to rest up a bit. I leaned back against a rock and the rock gave way and I fell. I opened my mouth to scream fuck but before I could I slammed into a ledge about seven feet down. For those few seconds I thought I was falling a hundred feet to my death. That was fuckin' terrifying.

Absolutely. The folley work and unnatural movements kept me up at night (sad to say I was 23 when I first saw The Grudge :o)

Mike Myers DEFINITELY. The first time I saw the original Halloween was when I was 20; never watched much horror before that except for black and white classics... And Halloween truly spooked me. Nightmares after that. Mike Myers is truly horrifying.

Pennywise from IT - Gave me nightmares.

And when I was really young, "The Man" from Carnival of souls.

Not really a who but I barely recall seeing something in Doctor Who when I was young. I can't remember if it was an alien or situation. Whatever it was, it freaked me out so much that I've never watched an entire episode. I think I'm going to go back and start from the beginning now that I'm older. See if I can find what was so scary.

I've been doing this for a while now-I'm up to the final William Hartnell series at the moment which is great because I never saw any earlier than the John Pertwee era (when they were repeated on UKGold as it was called then) so its like watching some brand new episodes. I'm finding it absolutely fascinating.
