Musical comparisions you don't get...?
Bands are often compared to other bands, sometimes rightly sometimes wrongly.
What are some you disagree with or just don't see how people came to that conclusion? One that sticks out to me is how Tool seem to always get compared to King Crimson. Both bands are miles apart to me. Crimson is more of a rock element and is a lot more experimental while Tool has more of a metal vibe and have more conventional songs/structure. |

It's probably because they've toured together a few times. I find the bands do compliment each other quite well. I think both bands have their structured side and their experimental side, so to me, the comparison is apt.

I don't get the comparison either. They sound absolutely nothing alike. I suppose they're both a little unusual in their respective genres, but it seems the same as comparing The Residents to Genesis.

Didn't know they toured together... that's pretty cool.
