The first Poltergeist is an excellent piece of film making, great story, acting, and effects, but to me, the second one really brings what the first lacked...true terror. I remember watching part 2 when I was a little kid, and having nightmares about Rev. Henry Kane, and also the tequila worm, vomit monster.

Tobe Hooper and Spielberg really laid the groundwork with the original, and somehow managed to make a PG movie scary, but number 2 delivered the goods.

I'd have to say that Poltergeist 2: The Other Side is probably in my top 5 favorite horror films of all time.

It appears so, but luckily we have a seasoned veteran such as yourself in on it now. Your thoughts on either film? We can leave 3 out of it completely, IMO.

I actyally like part two more so than one, mainly because of the creepy old man. And no I don't wish they were my family, that would mean that I'm American or adopted, no thanks.
