Trivium are weak as fuck nu/pop metal..... terrible (but thats just me).
Iced Earth aren't to bad from what I've had played to me. You might dig 3 Inches Of Blood aswell.
But dude check out Municipal Waste they kick ass. Hazardous Mutation is a good album to start with. I reckon you'd like 'em.... good beer drinking party thrash!
Oh yeh and Dimmu Borgir are completle shit and a insult to Black Metal but it gives 13 year old kids a chance to feel tuff.

Since when does a band being able to kick (or rape) another band's ass mean they're better? What a silly thread. Dragon Force is the most "80's like" metal band I've heard in the past... oh... 5 or so years.
