They were saying that he isn't funny and the only thing he had ever done with his life was Seinfeld. Basically calling him washed-up. As offensive as I'm sure that is, I definitely don't think he had any right to break out the N word. I can't bring myself to even say it when I'm singing along to a rap song. It's got too much baggage, and it's never appropriate.

Thank you, I had not heard what they had said. I agree that he fucked up and I personally don't know how sincere his apologies are, but, it has been blown out of proportion.

The reason I say "get over it" is because you can choose to let something hold you back and anger you for however long you choose to let it (years, centuries, whatever) or you can let it go and get on with your life. I get angry over certain things, but I move on and don't hold grudges. Everyone has the choice to grow or let things stunt their growth. It's a personal choice.

Both sides were using some racial slurs, but he just went off...in more ways than one, Bobby Collins-another comic-said Richards was new to stand-up, very insecure, and emotionally unstable...he does seem to be a pure racist though.

He shouldn't have said what he said. As someone else pointed out, he should know how to deal with hecklers by this point in his career. As for the notion that any legal remedies are necessary, that is America for you. The idea that he would have to pay his audience to compensate them for emotional distress is absurd.
