I actually havent read any of his stories (shock gasp!), but his poems are fantastic. The Lake (see signature) is my favourite.

Really? Not even The Tell-tale Heart??? We read that in school. I loved that teacher :p

If you like his poems, you should love his stories. He has the ability to scare the bjesis out of you. :D
