Bullshit. Bela OWNED Dracula. He was even buried in his cape. Christopher Lee was good and all, but Bela was better IMO.

The first 3 Hammer Dracula movies were certainly excellent, however I do feel that later films in the series also have a lot to offer. Personally, I like Scars of Dracula a lot, however I know this is not necessarily a very popular opinion. Sure, it's not perfect, and Cushing is missed in any Hammer Dracula film; however it does portray the Count as being more cruel than most of the previous movies in the series. And as for Dracula AD 1972, I can't stay mad at any movie with "Alligator Man" in it. :D I think BBC's 1977 production of Count Dracula was excellent. Sure, it does look like a BBC production as opposed to a Hollywood film, but it was a very faithful retelling of Bram Stoker's novel, and it had some great moments including Lucy in the tomb, Harker being met by the Count's coach, and several others. I saw this when I was quite young and haven't had the opportunity to see it again, but I have always remembered it very fondly. Naturally, Dracula (1931) and Nosferatu (both versions) are excellent films and classics of cinema in general, as well as horror cinema. |

i think the vampire legend is the most bloated, overdone, uninteresting line of horror possible. there is no point of making any more until someone comes up with a fresh idea (i.e. NEVER) nosferatu lugosis dracula langellas dracula blade. thats all we'lll ever need. |
