				Respected horror movies?

I'm putting this under modern because the older horror movies are generally respected anyways. So, in a genre that's usually looked down upon, what horror movies are generally respected in the movie community? I know The Exorcist is, and to a lesser extent, Halloween (the original), but what other ones?

Silence of the Lambs and The Shining have got some recognition, esp. Silence. Se7en is fairly respected also, though it could be contested as a horror movie. There's probably more, but not very many.

I would say "Dawn of the Dead" (the original), no? It is a horror film study in radical political theory... |

I'd say Carrie, Friday the 13th, The Evil Dead, Poltergeist and A Nightmare On Elm Street... but I could be wrong, who knows...
