the ring 2

Saw the trailer for it a little while ago, looks damn good. I think I remember hearing that its being directed by the guy who did the Japanese Ring 2, Hideo Nakata. Its gotten me a little curious, but I'm afraid it could turn into the whole "Grudge" fiasco, when Takashi Shimizu did an Ameican movie in a language he didn't even know. Any thoughts, how's this movie gonna turn out?

Hope it turns out better than "Ringu 2"...I found it very disappointing

I guarantee you it will get the same reaction as the 1st American one. All the self-proclaimed, modern day horror fans will say itz the scariest movie ever made, and it will get a decent review from REAL horror fans, but not a great one.

I liked the american remake of "Ringu"...not as good but one of the best remakes ever....."the Blob" and "Invasion of the Bodysnatchers"(1978) are two other great remakes...
..anyway i watched "Ringu 2" again and i think it was better this time..but the last 10 minutes still suck....

American Remake of Ringu was OK as remakes go, not a patch on Ringu IMO, but better than most remakes ...

How ever 4 Japanese Movies, A korean Remake and 1 US Remake so far, I say that's enough, this idea has been done to death, time to move on and do something new!

Oh good, someone else saw The Spiral besides me. Didn't like it that much (if you've read the book, they kinda mutilated it), But that scene with a naked Sadako poping out of the TV was fun.

Ring 2 is looking good, and I'm interested to see what Nakata will do with it. I actually like The Grudge quite a bit. So I'll be there.

Well thats a TV series ... but it does add to the fact that there has been enough done with this for the momment, at least IMO
