If ya watch AMCs informative version of the Exocist then you would know a bit of the true stories that it was created from. Some boy possessed back in like the 30s or 40s. But just parts of the actual possession not the surrounding storyline.
And as for scary movies, are we talking movies that actually scare ya? That would have to be the Grizzly movies that came out back in the late 70s early 80s I think...when I was just a young lass and drive-ins were all the rage and you were surrounded by woods and it was dark and the night was full of all those wild animal sounds. Other than that...I haven't had a good scare in that many years. Sure I love the blood and gore and monsters and such...but none of it scares me. Now movies like Armaggedon and Deep Impact, they scare me on a different level! |

I agree, obviously horror films can creep me out a bit but it has been years since I have actually been scared by a horror film. Films that you have mentions and other like The day after tomorrow etc can scare me now just as you said on a different level.

do you live in a cave? those are probably the most well known movies ever....
man i wish i could visit that era when the excorsist came out so i could watch people in the cinema. it'd be so entrertaining to us seeing as how bad the S.E seem now. imagine showing people of that era films like high tension xD |

And think about those *innocent* people back in the 50's watching superimposed giant ants and dinosaurs and wobbly ufo's on the big screen - hiding behind their hands or screaming!! Love it!! :D

10. Suspiria (Original Rating: R)
9. A Nightmare on Elm Street (Original Rating: R)- Love all of em 8. Jaws (Original Rating: PG) 7. Halloween (Original Rating: R) 6. Rosemary's Baby (Original Rating: R) 5. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1973) (Orginal Rating: R - - Unrated Versions available) 4. The Evil Dead (Original Rating: X - - Re-Rating in the 90's to NC-17 - - Heavily Cut versions available) 3. Psycho (Original Rating: R) 2. The Exorcist (Original Rating: X - - Unrated + Heavily Cut Versions Available) 1. The Shining (Original Rating: R ) I have never seen The Shining all the way through in one sitting because it bores me to death and I do not find it scarey at all, the book would probably be better to read. Still a good movie. Evil Dead did scare me when I first saw it as a child. The Exorcist took me a few times to see the whole thing as well cause I kept falling asleep out of boredom and then I just thought it was funny. |
