Maybe they will get it right.

Nine9, I highly recommend this [ the original ] movie to you. I know you liked "The Eye" so you will like this one.
I just saw the poster for the remake, it's the same image as the Japanese poster for "Ringu"! Anyway, from what I hear, "The Grudge" will be part remake but essentially will be "Ju-on 5".

That may be true, but I also just saw the trailer, and there are at least two parts that were identical to the original.

The only horror-movie that really scared me was Lucio Fulcis City of the Living Dead. It've got a really creepy gothic atmosphere, and the zombies are truly awesome! Great movie, almost Fulcis best, only Fulci movie that is better is The Beyond

As a child, NOES's and IT scared me a good deal...

I was actually terrified of "The Rock Biter" in The Neverending Story, even tho he was a good guy.....and that mean werewolf that was SUPPOSED to be scary didn't scare me at all:confused: ....i was a confused child.....now im a confused adult:rolleyes:

Let's see.

The Excorcist scared the piss out of me when I was ten.

Event Horizon got me good when I saw it in theaters but isn't remotely scary on video.

The Ring scared my girlfriend and I out of our wits when we saw it in theaters. I had never seen the Japanese version and I had no clue what I was getting into.

Kairo (directed by Kiyoshi Kurosawa, 2001) scared the fuck out of me. I just bought the VCD blindly off of ebay and once again didn't know what I was getting into.

As a kid I was really scared of freddy kreuger even though i'd only seen small parts of the NOES films.

So when i was 15 I decided enough is enough and borrowed the whole series from a mate. Watched it non stop one saturday. Cuddn't sleep for weeks but at least i'm cured now......I hope.

Any clown movies really scare the shit outta me cos I hate the evil bastards. But I like a good scare.

Ring was damn spooky (the japanese version not the shit american remake). I think hollywood horrors are shit cos they insist on explaining everythin. Part of horror revolves around the unexplained it think.

The only bit in the shining i found scary was the quick flashes of the dead twins and the blood gushung down the corridor......those and the kid on his bike going all through the hotel.

“I could catch a monkey. If I was starving I could. I’d make poison darts out of the poison of the deadly frogs. One milligram of that poison can kill a monkey. Or a man. Prick yourself and you’d be dead within a day. Or longer. Different frogs, different times.” - Gareth from The Office

“Life is just a series of peaks and troughs. And you don’t know whether you’re in a trough until you’re climbing out, or on a peak until you’re coming down. And that’s it you know, you never know what’s round the corner. But it’s all good. ‘If you want the rainbow, you’ve gotta put up with the rain.’ Do you know which philosopher said that? Dolly Parton. And people say she’s just a big pair of tits.” - David Brent

Lets see...

Salems Lot freaked the shit out of me as a young kid, actually ran upstairs and hid when the vamp kiddie flew up and started scratching on the window.

Only film that ever scared me before that was "Legend of Bogy Creek"

A few years later a mate and I were pretty freaked during (don't laugh) Amityville 1995 "It's about time" or whatever the fuck it was called but that was mainly due to non-film related things that happened while we were watching it like electrical equipment going on the blink and such.

The original Amityville Horror still freaks me out, I doubt I could sit through that on my own still, something about the idea behind it and that soundtrack *shudder*

The Ring (Jap) "Ringu" left a lasting impression, found myself thinking of it long after watching it, particularly last thing at night as I turned the telly off...which was scarier than the actual film.
