Vampires (2010): Fake documentary about a Belgium vampire community. Quiet dark in tone, with a decent slice of dry humour. Not really a blood and guts type of vampire flick though, although there are a few decent feeding scenes thrown in for good measure. Little bit slow and the ending drags a bit, but thought it was pretty well done and well worth a watch for any fans of vampire flicks and/ or fake documentaries. (Belgium/ French with subtitles).

Will add it to the queue! Thanks!

Sculpt: Thanks for the documentary recommendations! Have you seen Inside Deep Throat? Really interesting (and also very sad). Good call on the TEDtalks shoutout; I like Lifehacks.

The Hubby just watched all of The Avengers animated series. No idea if it was good but it held his interest. ;)

Thanks for the rec!

Still switching between Doctor Who and Breaking Bad. Interesting combination.

Also: Not sure if you guys are Podcast-listeners, but one of my favorites is Filmspotting SVU: Streaming Video Unit. Good source for reviews on all things streaming, Netflix and otherwise.

I've seen that Vampires film. and recommended it when it was On Demand. It's really good. with a very dry sense of humor.

I haven't seen Inside Deep Throat, but I noticed it. I remember hearing Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato interviewed by Terry Gross in 2005. It did sound really sad. So I know know some of the back story, and I know it's sad, so I thinks that's mostly why I didn't queue it. Sounds like it's an interesting cultural film.

Yes, LifeHacks is great! Especially liked 'Your body language shapes who you are' and 'How to start a movement'. TEDtalks has really good stuff. One of the best and funniest ones I've seen is 'power of vulnerability', which is in the TEDTalks: Sex, Secrets & Love. Paul Zak: Trust, Morality and Oxytocin is really good from that set too.

The Netflix animated series "The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes" is pretty good, once you get passed the superhero origin episodes. If your husband liked that one, (and he's obviously an adult), he'll like "Astonishing X-Men", which is for adults. It's not pornagraphic or crude, it's just for adults. It's written by Josh Wedon, creator of Cabin in the Woods, Avengers, Buffy, Firefly, etc.

Noticed a couple of British flicks on Netflix that some of you might not have had the chance to see yet;

Harold's Going Stiff: I'm sure I've mentioned this before somewhere, but not sure if its been recommended anywhere in this thread, either way its a quality movie. Unique and incredibly endearing take on the zombie genre. Hard to call it a horror as its much more drama with a slice of comedy. Basically about an elderly guy who is suffering from Onset Rigours Disease (he's turning into a zombie) and his carer. Beautiful story about their friendship and loneliness, well worth a watch. Just don't expect a full on zombie flick with blood, guts and action.

Four Lions: Hilarious comedy about an inept, British born, terrorist cell aspiring to become suicide bombers. Obviously a controversial theme that is going to make for uncomfortable viewing for a lot of people, but its all handled incredibly well. Not sure how the movie would translate to an international audience, but I think its the type of movie that if you aren't laughing after watching for 10 or 15 minutes then its probably not for you. Probably one of the best British comedies in recent years. That said, this is more of a tentative recommendation as I really don't think it will be for everyone.
