maybe some people dont understand how to use a search feature? whats wrong with someone wanting to know what happened? whether you like it or not that incident had a LOT to do with the shaping of this forum

and how abou this... what if someone had news from him, lets say that hes doing well. are we not allowed to post this then? no one is allowed to ask?

I'm sure I'm not the only one who is tired of seeing the Freddyfan issue brought up over and over again...I mean really how many Freddyfan threads do we really need here?

I guess what we should do is make a thread entitled "all about Freddyfan" and pin it at the top of this forum so every new person that comes here doesn't have to ask they can just read it...

I mean sure the Freddyfan incident did bring a lot of curious people to the board when it happened. But damn is this what the board really wants to be known for, some crazy kid who was gonna go to his school and harm a lot of people?

And on the topic of banning, the only ones I have banned are people who are only here just to cause problems on the board..

I think fluffho is drastically overemphasizing a disagreement over locking that thread....

But for the record, the freddyfan incident DOES reflect badly on the site, brings problem posters, and horrors not too fond of the subject itself....

Yes we do, that way we can at least get each others opinions before we do anything...And also me and BR talked about the Freddykrueger incident several times before he was finally banned, he was posting blatant racist material,and I even gave him a few times to redeem himself, but he went about doing the same shit, and I still took some heat because I banned him....

And for the record I did lock that topic..

I like our current moderators. I think they're fair. and they make good calls. I've not seen long page after page flame fests. Topics that are silly and posted deliberately to antagonize folks are deleted. Horror.com is cleaning up.

I wasn't here for the F-Fan shit, however I applaud all of the people that nipped it in the bud and tried their best to elminate the problem.

which is EXACTLY why we should allow peopel to ask questions about it, rather than to let them sit there and wonder and make up stories.

so what if it is a repeat thread. thats what happens when you get new members....

of COURSe it brought problem posters, but did it not bring several regular posters as well? and whos to say that it was that ONE incident that brought posters. so sohuld we have a 'why did you join this site' option and immediate flag someone if they mention freddy fan?? :rolleyes:

This just proves that you have no idea what went on, perhaps if you had actually been here, you would understand...Try to consider this...

We had just over 300 members here...Over 1500 people registered here within 2 short weeks after the "incident"...90% of those came to bash, trash and BLAME us for what Freddy did...Not only did they PERSONALLY attack our members individually (Cheeba and Arioch taking the most heat, for some reason)...But, they blamed our site, as well as the horror genre in general...You have no idea what it was like...Constant fighting and defending ourselves for over a solid month...Threats that we were going to be shut down (at a time when we didn't know whether it would happen or not, considering that the FBI and FCC were involved)...All out flooding of the board, so that it was impossible to even post...Racist and inflammatory shit ALL over the forum, and we had NO moderators...Horror deleted almost ALL of the chaos that occurred here, himself...It was also the very first time that anyone ever had to be banned...
Overall...For those of us who WERE here (and because of this, there aren't many left)...This was NOT a pleasant, positive experience that we like to revisit every time someone new comes along...
If you still don't 'get it'...Try to imagine Bane under ALL of his various SNs, multiplied by 50, all on the board at the same time, for nearly 2 solid months, motivated by hatred instead of just mere stupidity...
I don't understand how anyone could imagine that it DIDN'T reflect badly on us...Especially since that was exactly what nearly 1,000 people came here specifically to tell us...
Time and time again we were informed that it was OUR SITE and the HORROR GENRE (movies, books, games...you name it) that CAUSED Freddy to be the way that he was, and to do the things that he did...I hate to inform you that it was NOT a "Thank you so much for diverting a catastrophe" lovefest...
This is the last thing that I will say about this matter, if you STILL can't comprehend the situation, nothing else that anyone could tell you will help to enlighten you...

BTW...Wasn't it YOU, Fluff...Who said on several different occasions..."If you don't like it here, stop whining about it, and just leave"?
