Cremated, Buried, or Other?
When you die, how would you like your body to be processed?
I want to be buried so I can come back to life in a Zombie Apocalypse :) And just something interesting: Has anyone heard of Sky Burial? They do it in Tibet, where they leave your body out in the open to let the birds eat it. |

I'm a medical donor, so might as well just burn up the remains.

May I LOL at that? Thanks for the chuckle on that! But seriously, don't let that poison damage you. I might need your liver. (JK)

On my other hand, I sometimes wonder if any sort of preservation of my body, or DNA, would be useful to any being in bringing me back to life. But that's a passing thought. Spirit is immortal, flesh is not. The Tibetan Sky Burial (body eaten by birds) is interesting. What's the significance of that? Some say cremation contributes to global warming. But, so does lighting a candle; so I'm sure that's not the reason they do it. If you have faith in God, God created humankind, including DNA and life itself. Prior DNA wasn't needed. And God breathed life-spirit into humankind. If you believe God saves and promises to resurrect, then is almighty God unable to keep His promise to someone who dies in a fire? Rather the Bible talks about spirit being distinct from, and inhabiting, the body. Interestingly, the Bible doesn't read cremation is a sin. It does mention burial mostly, and also cremation. Whatever you believe, these are words of interest in the subject: James 2:26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also 2 Corinthians 5:4 These tents we now live in are like a heavy burden, and we groan. But we don’t do this just because we want to leave these bodies that will die. It is because we want to change them for bodies that will never die. 5 God is the one who makes all of this possible. He has given us his Spirit to make us certain that he will do it. 1 Corinthians 15:42 That’s how it will be when our bodies are raised to life. These bodies will die, but the bodies that are raised will live forever. 43 These ugly and weak bodies will become beautiful and strong. 44 As surely as there are physical bodies, there are spiritual bodies. And our physical bodies will be changed into spiritual bodies. |
