Francis Ford Coppola's "Twixt"

Francis Ford Coppola has somehow managed to sneak an entire movie under the radar, with news of his next film Twixt only emerging now that it has begun shooting.

Starring Val Kilmer, Elle Fanning and Bruce Dern, the film is being described by Deadline as a “thriller with horror overtones”, and is based on a short story by Coppola himself.

Kilmer has taken on the role of a horror novelist, and was apparently 71-year-old Coppola’s first choice for the part. No word yet on who the other actors are playing.

The story follows Kilmer’s hack horror writer, who suffers ghostly visions in a small town that lead him to investigate the death of a young girl (Fanning).

Coppola himself has divulged that the film draws on Nathaniel Hawthorne and Edgar Allan Poe for inspiration.

The director will be heading to Comic-Con this week to chat about the film, where hopefully we’ll get our first glimpse of Twixt’s trailer.

Twixt has yet to receive an official UK release date.

Sounds good. Heres hoping Kilmer sheds some pounds for the role so he won't look like a turtle with a ponytail anymore.

First ever trailer...

Quote:
A writer with a declining career arrives in a small town as part of his book tour and gets caught up in a murder mystery involving a young girl. That night in a dream, he is approached by a mysterious young ghost named V. He's unsure of her connection to the murder in the town, but is grateful for the story being handed to him. Ultimately he is led to the truth of the story, surprised to find that the ending has more to do with his own life than he could ever have anticipated.
Twixt will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival later this year.

That trailer is terrible, but I'm still interested in the film for sure. Apparently, Coppola is going to be doing live editing of the film during its four-wall screening tour, which sounds interesting. Could go either way, though, obviously.

Yeah he wont stop me from seeing it. I saw Kill The Irishman with him in it although his role was really small in that.
