THE KINGDOMDOM OF THE SPIDERS - 1977

We all like cuddily little furry creatures, like kittens, puppies, squirrels and other baby animal covered with fur.

Well the fur covered creatures in this film have 8 legs, a venomous bite and a hugh appetite.

Kingdom of The Spiders is a 1977 combination horror-sci fi flick. It won an award as best sci fi film of 1977.

The story line is due to pesticides which kill off the food supply for predator spiders in this Arizona location, especially the tarantulas, they go on the attack for food, including humans.

The cast of this movie includes:

William Shatner as Dr. Rack Hansen
Tiffany Bolling as Diane Ashley
Woode Strode as Walter Colby
Lieux Dressler as Emma Washburn
David McLean as Sheriff Gene Smith
Natasha Ryan as Linda Hanson
Altovise Davis as Birch Colby

This is both a suspenseful and terrifying movie. It does not lack for action or scary scenes.

Bill Shatner and his group do everything possible to stop the spider invasion but to no avail. They then have to fight against the enemy for their lives.

This is an excellent movie. But it is not for the squeamish, especially if you don't like spiders.

It will keep you on the edge of your seat. I personally suffer from arachnaphobia but as long as the spiders are on the TV screen and not in the house, I'm OK.

If you have never seen this film it is very definitely worth the watch, especially if you are a horror or sci fi fan.

The movie is available on DVD.

Keep a can of raid with you while you watch the movie.... just in case!

Spider massacre

A lot of spiders they used live ones from Mexico and pulled off their fangs, essentially starving them to death. How nice of them? Oh plus if you read Fangoria, back in like January or so, there was an article about it and it had a synopsis of the writers original idea:They got SCREWED!!! It was much scarier than what ended up on screen!

I respectfully disagree. Kingdom of Spiders is unintentionally funny in a campy sort of way. I didn't fine it scary at all, but I have no fear of spiders, so that may have contributed to my lack of suspense.
