Kull coming to conquer again?!
Move over, Kevin Sorbo. There's a new Kull in town.
In an exclusive chat with Fantasy.fr, Paradox Entertainment CEO Fredrik Malmberg revealed that the company is developing a new big screen version of the Robert E. Howard character Kull of Atlantis (a.k.a. Kull the Conqueror). Paradox is also producing the upcoming feature film return of another Howard hero, Conan the Barbarian. In addition to Kull and Conan, Paradox also controls the property rights to Bran Mak Morn and Solomon Kane, as well as to the non-Howard property The Mutant Chronicles. Kull the Conqueror was previously brought to the screen in 1997 with Kevin Sorbo in the title role. Tia Carrere, Thomas Ian Griffith, Harvey Fierstein and Karina Lombard co-starred. Kull also had his own comic book series for Marvel and Dark Horse. Kull was born in Atlantis in the years prior to its destruction, and exiled from there while still a teenager. In the years after that, he would be a slave, pirate, outlaw, gladiator, and soldier. He later served as the head of the mercenary army for the despotic Valusian king Borna, but ultimately led a revolt, slew Borna and assumed his throne.
