Best Modern Horror Music/Band
What's the best horror band out there within the past ten years?
1. Marilyn Manson (for mainstreaming hate) 2. Flatlinerz (for bringing horror to rap) 3. ICP (for creating a whole sub-culture) |

dude, my sister totally agrees, i do to but she is like a huge manson fan and well, she loves antichrist superstar (also my favorite) and mechanical animals, and the first albums but now she thinks the songs suck, like new shit, that stuff, she thinks it's to mainstream and ICP? horror???? wtf Im not into music as a type of horror, i just love metal, even if they sing about white angels with heavy guitars i might love it But people say murderdolls are horrorpunk, and i like them, so . . . I know, most people disagree about the murderdolls thing, but i think it's a funny album the lyrics of die my bride are hilarious

I vote for ICP from a purely narrirative standpoint. Think of it as a story, starting with Carnival of Carnage and ending with The Wraith: Shangri La. They set up the story, had foreshadowing, they were consistant with style and themes, showed change in characters (the evolution from eating dead bodies to things like "Fly Away", "Nothing Left" and the intro to The Wraith), followed through with everything, and gave a satisfying (and somewhat of a twist) ending. It wasn't anti-climactic, it didn't alienate the true fans, it gets a lot of flack that it shouldn't just because people don't have a sense of context, and will most of the time either overanalyze things the wrong way, or only look at the surface.

If I were to choose bands that either have been in, or bands that really should be in horror-movies, I'd go with these:
Fantômas Star of Ash Ulver Hollenthon Tristania Gae Bolg and the Church of Fand Bohren & Der Club of Gore Dargaard Sophia
