Loaded Questions

My Stupid Questions thread got me thinking about their far more evil cousin, the Loaded Question.


Stupid questions are sort of like an endurance test: how much moronic i8gnorance can you endure?

Loaded questions, though, are a much different beast. They are a wolf in sheep's clothing (more like a giant werewolf). On the surface they seem innocent enough, but beneath them are a subtext that could spell disaster if answered incorrectly (or, in the case of some, no matter how you answer)

I will start with the grandaddy of all of them, and the bane of any man or unfortunate lesbian:
"Do I look fat?"

followed by "Does this make my butt look big?"
"Does this make my boobs look small?"
"Do I look like i've lost weight?"
"Do I look like i've gained weight?"


God help you if you werent paying attention and answered with "uh huh". Now you're stuck. You have a choice, which will she kill you less over? Not paying attention or intimating that she may be ugly, fat, flat or all of the above?


Women arent the only ones who ask loaded questions (bosses are good at it too) but they are the undisputed masters of them.
