Martin

has anyone seen this George A. Romero film? I just rented it, and have yet to watch it, but would like to know if it's worth the time? I loved 'NOTLD' and 'Dawn of the Dead'

How the fuck should I know probably!
Why? Because it's a brilliant film, it's so funny, and the soundtrack kicks fucking ass!

I saw Martin years ago on late night TV. To be honest I don't recall much except I think a lot of it was set on a train? My memory has that it was really boring but maybe I was just too young to appreciate it. I'd certainly watch it if you boteherd to rent it! Let us know what you thought.

The first scene is on a train.

Martin is a little slow, not an action-packed vampire movie by any means. It's one of the best non-traditional vampire movies ever, though. The Nicholas Cage vampire film, the name of which I do not recall, borrows from Martin pretty heavily.

IMO: Not recommended for slasher fans, but recommended for vampire/psychological horror fans.

I commented on this one before, but to recap: I really liked it because it had good characterization. Also Martin was kind of cute:p

The characterization is really good, much better than most any other of Romero's films that I've seen (which is not all of them).

Martin is one of those GAR movies you either get right away or may as well forget. It's a great movie and a great tearing apart of self in the shoes of Martin. The movie never actually let's you know if he is, or isn't, a "true" vampire. And what is even better is that the character of Martin doesn't know for sure either. This is classic story telling and one of GAR's best.
